Several years ago, I had ankle surgery after which I was prescribed various orthotics by the NHS podiatry clinics. Despite this my ankle, knee and hip pain persisted. I had pain in my Achilles which radiated up my leg and into my knee. I found mobility difficult which really impacted on my quality of life. I had started playing golf, but the pain made it almost impossible to walk round the course. I attended various private clinics with a view to getting better orthotics but none of them made any difference.
